At the first MLS Next California Cup, Breakers FC’s U17 and U19 teams impressively claimed victory, demonstrating strategic skill and steady resolve at the Mary Grogan Soccer Complex in Modesto. Led by coaches Zoran Djuric (U17) and Sergi Tortell (U19), both teams skillfully navigated through tough matches to secure their titles.

The U17 team’s path to success included dominant wins such as a 3-0 victory over Diablo Valley, a close 1-0 win against Napa United, and a decisive penalty shootout win against Silicon Valley after a 0-0 tie. Their championship was solidified with a hard-earned 2-1 victory against Sac Republic.

The U19 team displayed their strength from the start, defeating Lamorinda Soccer Club 3-2, holding SF Glens SC to a draw, and securing a 2-1 win against Diablo Valley Wolves Soccer Club in the semi-finals. The pinnacle of their tournament was a thrilling final against Ballistic United, culminating in a victory through a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at full time.

These achievements underscore Breakers FC’s commitment to excellence and the effective guidance of their coaches. Both teams not only took home the championships but also set a high benchmark for future competitions. Congratulations to the players and coaches for their commendable performance!
