Beau Leroux: First Breakers FC Player Drafted in MLS

Beau Leroux, a standout talent from Breakers FC, has been drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes, becoming the academy’s first player to join Major League Soccer.
Born and raised in San Jose, Leroux, 20, has a distinguished local soccer history. He played for Santa Teresa High School and then the Santa Cruz Breakers, demonstrating early signs of his soccer prowess. His college career at San Jose State University from 2021 to 2023 was marked by remarkable achievements. Leroux earned United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region Third Team and All-WAC First Team honors in 2022 after scoring seven goals in 19 appearances for the Spartans. Notably, he led the conference in shots with 54 that season. His immediate impact was recognized in his freshman year, earning a spot on the WAC All-Freshman Team in 2021.
This drafting marks a significant milestone for Breakers FC, underlining the academy’s success in developing players who achieve professional levels. Leroux’s progression from local leagues to professional soccer exemplifies the quality and effectiveness of the training provided by the academy.
